The Midlife Crisis, Welcome

Image
I turn 34 on the 29th of January 2024. Old, young? You decide.   I have ticked off 70% of my long term vision board, except travelling, and a few others. I live on plans. But right now, I do not have a solid plan on the next step. I know what I need to do, or I think I do. A friend called this season of my life - "a Midlife Crisis". I somehow agree. I need more fulfilment and so forth. This blog is not about that, this is just for context, chill. Anyway, you don't know me, I am single (as in currently not dating), I am interested in men only, [side note], I do not have children of my own, but you will often see me with 3 kids. I decided to do this trip now because I am extremely exhausted and I need a mental break. I will share bits and pieces along the journey, you will let me know if this is a midlife crisis or not. I am hoping to discover more about myself, heal, renew my mind, meet people and have FUN! ----- ------- ...

How it all started.

Image
I am writing this blog post I am in the United States of America. Sitting in a dorm bed at Pasquerilla East campus at the University of Notre Dame, South Bend Indiana. Date: 21/36/2019 Time: 09:25PM – I would like to emphasize that the sun hasn’t set yet. How does a girl from the rural area of Siphocosini in the Siphocosini Inkhundla from the Hhohho region get here? Well, It started with identifying a problem that was accompanies by lots of prayer and action. Action not just from me but from other people whom God used to make sure my purpose in life gets fulfilled. I know my purpose, it took a while to But I know it now. Here’s a short version of my story.  Ten years after I finish High School I became a Public Relations graduate from Limkokwing University, I endured the pain of being lectured by my former high school mates. It wasn’t fun at all. I endured not having lunch money, I endured a lot of challenged but I graduated. I was happy and I was not poor, I got ...

Mother's Day chat with Zitsile Maziya

Image
We chat to Zitsile Maziya also known as Zie! She is a writer, marketer and sells designer clothes. She travels a lot yet she manages to remain a present mother to her 19 months old son. Power woman in the making!  As fierce and carefree as she is, her son has humbled her 😊.  She believes motherhood has taught her a lot especially when it comes to decision making. She no longer just thinks about herself but with every decision she makes, she thinks of her son too. * How does it feel to be celebrating your 2nd Mother's Day?  Celebrating Mother's Day for the second time feels so amazing. It's been 19 months of motherhood and I celebrate it every day. In fact, it should be celebrated every day.             * Before you became a mother, what did Mother’s Day mean to you? Growing up,  mothers' day meant nothing really. I only knew there is a day dedicated to mothers every second Sunday of May a few years ago when th...

Congratulations Refiloe on being a new mom!

Image
It is Mother's Day and I thought it cool 😎 to talk to two young mothers. First up is business woman (REFNO Investments Director), accountant and happily married Mrs Refiloe Gama. God blessed her with a princess, Sivuselelwe Gama on the 4th of July 2017. Her second name is Prosper ( speaking to her destiny that she would prosper in everything she did especially financially). Let's talk about Mother’s Day; 1.        How does it feel to be celebrating your first Mother's Day? It’s a feeling that cannot be described with words but I can say it feels good. I realise that there is a higher power and not everyone is given the opportunity to raise a child or to have the gift of a child. 2.        Did Mother’s day have a significant meaning while growing up? Mothers day, to me, means a day where all female guardians need to be celebrated. Some may not be biological parents but the fact that they have ...

We're back!

‘Begin With The End in Mind’ And there I was with my blog getting exciting numbers with every post. There I was with published interviews [The Swazi Observer] from my blog. Then came a block. A writer’s block as some calls it. Maybe laziness too. I stopped writing for this blog and life happened and days became weeks, weeks months. ‘Begin with The End in Mind’ A Wrecking Ball.Source: Google The quote continues to ring in my mind. I developed exciting content and I got writing again. This time around I had a plan, a concrete content plan. And I saved articles, then the unexpected happened. The damn laptop crushed. Like Miley Cyrus’s crashing ball crashed it! I was so heart-broken but optimistic, a new laptop came and I was armed with a terabyte external hard drive. Nothing was going to stop me at this point. ‘Begin With The End in Mind’ I started writing again and also recording videos [I wanted to join the vlogging world] and content for a 6 month YouTube c...

Jubilation as Mugabe Resigns

Image
Tears of Joy for Zimbabweans as President Robert #MugabeResigns. What does it take to remove a leader from a position he has held since 1980? For Zimbabwe, it took solidarity, action, faith, hope and strategic planning [politics]. It was when the military intervened that the world stood and watched everything unfold. Finally, President Robert Mugabe gave Zimbabwe a '2nd Independence'.  Today, Zimbabweans across the world see a brighter future. Change will happen, it may not be overnight but today, celebrations will take happen. Here are screenshots from twitter about #Zimbabwe #MugabeResigns: Again we wait to see: What's next for Zimbabwe?  Who will be the next Zimbabwean President? Mrs Grace Mugabe?  We all wait in anticipation… for now, celebrations!    21 November 2017 – A day not to be forgotten in Zimbabwe.

Don't tell me to smile, just stop harassing us!

"The world seems to turn a blind eye when they hurt,  man,  Some niggas can't express themselves to women, so they hurt them." (lyrics from Casper Nyovest's song Superman) So they hurt them. Then we say #MenAreTrash.  A friend of mine recently had a sexual harassment/indecent  assault incident a couple of weeks back. Last week during our Thursday chill evening around a bonfire she tells us her story. "Guys I had a very scary incident last week. I was on my way down stairs from work. (she works in a 8 storeys building, she is on the 6th floor). The lift had just been repaired so it still don't have lights. So I go into the lift with this guy from offices on the same floor. While in the dark lift this guy starts kissing and fondling me. In my mind I was kicking his balls and hitting him but in reality I laughed of fear, he laughed too and continued until the lift opened. I have never felt so dirty and worthless in my life. I go out of the lift, and smi...

Which type of bra do you like?

Image
Padded or non-padded bra?  Woman do dot like the same type of underwear and that's okay, we have a variety to choose from. While I was shopping for a bra a week ago I asked my friends, "Which one do you like?" un-padded and padded bra examples.  Heee! 👏😥 It was a long topic that never reached an end. I conclude right now that there are positives and negatives between padded and non-padded bras. Which bra is better than the other?   This is what I found on the internet about un-padded bra’s :  1.   They are sexier – they come in different form of material and colour.        2.   They are natural – they give the perception of the exact breast sizes.          3.  They give the same support – the underwire is what push ups the breast and give them shape not the padding.        4.   Comfortable – they are just comfortable. You sweat less, feel less pain a...

One pair of shoes at a time.

Image
"Whatever road in life we choose, it's always a little easier with a new pair of shoes."- Unknown  A group photo with the children who received a pair of shoes.   Miss Swaziland 2nd Princess Baby Mthimkhulu handing out shoes. Last week Friday I was privileged to accompany Miss Swaziland 2 nd Princess Baby Mthimkhulu to donate school shoes at kaShewula, Mbhandzamane Primary School in Swaziland. First of all I did not know her, nor was I familiar with her name. We got to know each other along the way, she is a beauty with a purpose. Mbandzamane Primary School, at  kaShewula in Swaziland I was so happy and touched to learn about Baby’s journey on how she thought of the idea, how she asked people to give her shoes and the future.  Miss Cultural Heritage Sindiswa Dlamini was also there to give a hand.   I personally have never seen a school child go to school bare footed. It was my first time to witness this and it broke my he...
