The 7 Limkokwing University students took it upon themselves to bring in Swaziland Breast and Cervical Cancer Network (sbccn) to educate fellow students about breast cancer. Through research they leant that Fitness can help fight off Breast Cancer, hence the event ‘Fitness for Breast Cancer'.
The event commenced at 9:30am at Limkokwing University grounds, on the 31st of October with aerobics session conducted by Phela-Live Wellness Centre fitness Instructor Noah.

Clad in black Limkokwing University T-Shirts, the group of students were smeared with pink paint as an indication of self-love in relation to Breast Cancer. The students seem to enjoy the session as they would from time to time laugh around and paint each other. Immediately after the aerobics session students went into the university’s MPH where formalities were held. Rovine Communications CEO Bongakonkhe Nthsangase welcomed everyone to the event and thanked all students for their earlier participation.

Nolwazi, sbccn PRO took on stage where she explained about breast cancer and taught the students how to self-examine their breasts. She also went on to talk about cervical cancer and did a pep talk on sexual lifestyle. Some people are usually shy when speaking about sex, she was comfortable with this topic hence the students relaxed and engaged with her. They asked questions and in closing she encouraged everyone to go for breast and cervical scanning at their nearest health centres.

Before the end of the event, pink candles were distributed and lit, a moment of silent was held to honour celebrate and support all cancer survivors. The event was proudly supported by Limkokwing University, Phela-Live Wellness Centre and Swaziland Breast and Cervical Cancer Network.
