I am personally proud of him for such an achievement. Therefore, I will keep you updated on how he is doing in Rio. Here is what the 28 year old lad had to say on my 1st interview with him.
Hi there? How is Brazil?
'Swazi Bolt' - Brazil is warm and awesome even
though I haven't gone to some parts because of training and preparations for my
competition on the 15th.

Congratulations on making it to the 2016
Olympics in Rio.
Thank you
How do you feel representing the country in such
a huge sporting event? Especially since you were the country’s flag bearer
during the official open in?
It's a pleasure and an honour that fuels me with determination to work
harder, more especially caring the flag for the second time as I carried it in
2012 Olympics during the closing ceremony in such big games...it's really an
honour so to say.
Wow, that is awesome! When you left Swaziland for the Olympics on the 1st of August 2016, what were your expectations of Rio?
The Swazi team at KM3 airport just before leaving Swaziland. |
I expected a warm Rio since its rainy region and we called these games 'Summer Olympics' and of-course that is what I found!

Lucky you, we are freezing here. Tell me what you will be competing on
and when?
Well, sorry about that. I will be competing in the men's 200m on the 16th at about 1100hours Brazilian times.
All the best for your run. In the meantime, what does your day look like?
Thanks. I simply train and rest, attend physic, watch TV, get myself fuelled up with food from the
dining hall.
It sounds like the life of a sportsman indeed. Have you met Usain Bolt yet?
I haven't met him personally... But we live on the same block.
In one of his training sessions. |
How cool is that! When you do meet him tell him you are Swazi Bolt and get a picture with him please.
LOL, okay.
What would you wish the Swazi nation knew about
the 2016 Olympics experience?
Just to know that it's really great to represent your country in such big
games in the world and get to mingle with the best of the best.
It's a thrillingly amazing experience...and u meet a lot of people with
different perceptions and beliefs.
Wow, well done to you again. Do you miss us (Swaziland)?
Not yet. It's amazing here.
Thank-you, will chat next week.
It's
a pleasure, and you're welcome.
That's it this week with Sibusiso, check this blog again after his run on Tuesday. I will bring you the exclusive.
It's Life
