Conquered SIBEBE for Gugu Zulu (in remembrance)

May Gugu Zulu rest in peace.

His death touched me deeply as I felt sad for his wife and daughter. I remember praying that night for God to comfort them for such a loss. Their adventure couple life inspired me to live life fearlessly and enjoy it while at that.

Hiking is one of my hobbies, I do not hike as often as I could due to schedule differences between my hiking buddies and I. In the past 3 years I have hiked 3 mountains and number of times each. These are Lidwala, Sibebe and Sidwashini Mountains which stretch to Hawane. When I saw the advert for this year's Sibebe Survivor challenge I was glad, this was an opportunity to pay tribute for Gugu Zulu. I planned to hike and conquer Sibebe in remembrance of Gugu Zulu’s adventure life.

Me on top of Sibebe Rock.

The hike took place yesterday (07 August 2016), I joined the thousands of people with my dear friend Nompho at 8am. My early evening training helped with my level of fitness as Sibebe seemed shorter and less tougher. My speed was at its best as well, I guess I am fitter now. Yeah yeah! The view at the top was just breathtaking :) I wish I had a flag to raise at the peak, but well next time.

I am going to hike almost every month as I have now  found a hiking family. It might not be in memory of anyone or helping anyone but I will hike for myself. Life is fun and is to be enjoyed. I love life and I am glad I am no longer afraid to live and be happy.

                       Have a great week.
